Introduction 

After having climbed the ranks in international advertising to the position of Creative Director, I entered the world of fashion 5 years ago when hired by Tommy Hilfiger Europe. The main reason for Tommy Hilfiger to get a seasoned international advertising professional on board was to build a strong in-house advertising agency to support the Marketing department of TH in Europe. However, after the acquisition of TH USA by TH Europe and Apax Partners (a leading global private equity firm) in 2006, the in-house Agency is now handling all Tommy Hilfiger global communications and grew from 2 to 14 people in 4 years. The net sales grew from 309 million euro in 2004 to 562 million euro in 2009. An increase of 82%.
 
Strength

I am a firm believer of “Through the Line” thinking, which basically sees brands as personalities who behave in a certain way, have friends, enemies etc. This behavior then has to filter through to every activity the brand undertakes; above / below the line, on / off line and of course PR. The building of this personality and what it does or doesn’t do, how it looks and feels, is my expertise. I am passionate, open minded, communicative, entrepreneurial, pro-active & responsive, resourceful, hands on, problem solving & pragmatic, offering high quality work and fresh thinking.

TOMMY HILFIGER / CREATIVE DIRECTOR ART
Based in Amsterdam Headquarters. In this role I am responsible for all global advertising, including the USA. All concepting and execution are done in-house. We are running a full service advertising agency and we produce basically everything that bears the name Tommy Hilfiger, from hangtag to editorial to global ad campaign. Together with the Director Operations I am heading a team of 14 people. Art Directors, Graphic Designers, DTP, print production and traffic. As we are still building the agency structure my role often takes on a wider scope and gets me involved in a lot of other marketing and branding activities, like cooperating with Estee Lauder on our fragrance activities. The TH Agency is based in Amsterdam, but we do have a small satellite studio in the New York office as well.

Part of Bates Worldwide. Based in Amsterdam. Responsible for all through the line creative including TV commercials and print. Managed 4 creative teams and part of management team.

Part of Y&R Worldwide. Based in Amsterdam. Responsible for a wide range of clients and part of management team. Hired to upgrade creative output of the agency. Worked on TV and print.
